NATIONAL MEATS & FOOD DISTRIBUTORS LIMITED is a private Jamaican owned Corporation incorporated under the laws of Jamaica on February 16, 1985. The Company was founded by Mr. David G. Phillips with our corporate office located at Lydford, St. Ann. Operations commenced with the distribution of local meats to the Hotel Industry and in 1985 the Company began exporting Jamaican beef to other nations of the Caribbean. 1989 was a pivotal year which saw the expansion of the company’s product line to include imported beef, mutton, poultry and seafood. The continuing growth and success is the result of ensuring that merchandise is of the highest quality with an inventory that ensures product availability. By the year 1990, National Meats and Food Distributors Limited became the largest distributor of frozen meats, poultry and seafood to the Hotel Industry, in addition to being the main importer of Australian mutton. The Company presently carries a complete range of frozen and refrigerated items, including dairy products, vegetables and pastas. During 1993 the company expanded its client base to include supplying the supermarket, wholesale, restaurant and institution trade with significant success. At present the Company has more than 2,500 customers distributed among hotels, wholesalers, supermarkets, restaurants and institutions covering the length and width of the island. In 2001, National Meats started warehousing and distributing for KFC, Wendy’s and Pizza Hut. We are the only approved warehouse and distribution centre in Jamaica for fast food franchises.
